“Dear Ms. Glass,

Today we were notified by the Disney Dreamers Academy that Imani McClendon has been selected as one of the 100 students to attend/participate in the 2012 Disney Dreamers Academy created by Steve Harvey, Essence Magazine and Disney World. I wanted to inform you because after attending your summer program, Imani came home with a more positive attitude and a can do disposition. I must admit her writing skills has grown and resulted in her reaching this outstanding accomplishment.

I am forever thankful for your commitment to creating a program that is focused on the educational and leadership skills required for our black young ladies to reach for the stars and be the best they can be while developing their strengths in a diverse environment and community.

I pray God will continue blessing every future event, activity, and conference you design for the greater good of future young women who participate in “At The Well Young Women’s Leadership Academy”. I am forever your Cheer-Leader and Supporter.
God Bless You”

“Dear Jackie,

Thanks so much for inviting Alexis to the Leadership Academy last year and hosting her at your home. She is having a great year and I am sure some of that is a reflection of her time at the conference. Her first semester grades were her best ever at 3.94 overall. She is taking Chemistry, Honors Human Anatomy, and Pre-calculus. As you know she is graduating this year. We were able to improve the SAT scores by about 250 points. She has applied to a number of schools. She has been accepted at George Mason U in VA, Highpoint U in North Carolina, and North Carolina Charlotte, Western Washington U. The bottom line is that she has choices.
